Yes! Both as a fellow iOS developer and a runner!

I'd definitely pay for this, too.

I would definitely use something like this. I'm having knee surgery this coming Thursday so once I get up and going again it'll really help get me back to where I am now.

I'm also a somewhat new IOS developer. I had an idea for an app that I just don't have time to make, so I figured I'd put it on here and give someone else the opportunity to make it.

One of the things I miss most about using my Fitbit (actually the only thing that I miss) is the ability to compare to my friends data collected throughout the day. One of the best parts of working out is being able to challenge your friends as it helps both of you be more healthy. If there was an app that created a comprehensive health score (similar to what nikefuel does), and allowed you to add friends and compete against them, I feel like it could definitely be a top app. I'd love to have someone make that, and I'm sure people would pay for it.

I can submit it to the App Store before the end of the week. And hopefully it will be approved by some time next week.
Looks great! A question on the workout data – is GPS data stored also? Do you see a way where a developer would be able to make a app that exports the Workout data into another system like Nike+ or Garmin?

I've attached a couple screen shots. It shows the weekly total distance, average pace and total calories on the top. Then follows the individual stats for Mon - Sun. You can either tap the arrow buttons or swipe left / right on the screen to flip through the weeks. Tapping on "Current Week" will reset it to the current week.

I really wanted to include the average heart rate for the workout session but I could not find a way to obtain it from the HKWorkout object. If anyone knows how to get the heart rate associated with a workout, please let me know and I will put it in the app.

I can submit it to the App Store before the end of the week. And hopefully it will be approved by some time next week.

You can switch between the running and cycling workout activity, and set your preferred unit to either miles or km.

I'm planning on releasing it for free. The only thing I ask for in return is support for another app that I will be releasing soon by sharing information about it with your friends and family via Facebook, email, etc. I'll place a button that can be used to share info about it somewhere on this app. It's a free app that I made to help parents and the environment.

This is perfect. Love it. My only complaint is that I can't pay you for it if you release it for free :)

Count me in this looks great, good work.

Will subscribe to this thread for updates!

You have to use the Nike+ App to track your runs right?

I don't see the runs recorded from the Workout App when I go to the Activity menu on the Nike+ Running app.

My wife runs and uses the app on her phone but she doesn't have an Apple Watch. I'm pretty sure there is a Nike+ Watch companion app. But seeing as I'm not an avid runner (tried taking it up but it's not my thing) I think you need to be using the Nike + app. Not sure the Workout app will share data.

Doesn't the Nike+ app do this?
The problem with all the third-party apps at this point is that they do not have access to the HRM of the Watch. For me, that's a huge downside, as I want get as accurate of a calorie burn calculation as possible.

I'd be interested in helping test if you have it on test flight, are you able to read from health kit the times that a workout is done? and from there get all the HR data from those times and average them out?

Great app. Thanks for doing this.

Any chance in a future release you could summarize all type of workouts, not just running and cycling. For example, I also to stair stepper and elliptical, and other.

It would be great to see weekly (and monthly) totals/averages of any workout that was recorded by the AW.

Thanks.

Yes, I will continue to work on it to make it more useful / better / feature rich.

Update:
I was able to get the heart rate data for the workouts, so that'll also be in the initial release.

Thanks and terrific news about HR data!

If you have entire HR data it would be great to show minimum and maximum along with average....and even a HR graph. And you should charge for your app.

Very nice. Look forward to it.

HealthKit is an Apple brand (probably trademark) and they will not let you call it that so you'll have to change the splash screen to get through App Review.
