06 MBP not starting??

simple as the title.. my sisters 06 mbp shows the white screen on startup, no startup sound, no apple in middle of screen, and just stays there..
its got leopard on it, 1.83 ghz, 2 gb of ram, 160 hdd.. (not the one in sig)
any ideas..
