I usually don't get birthday or X-mas gifts because I live so far away from family.

My parents expect me to just buy something for myself, and usually, I don't. Instead of buying a gift, I buy what I want throughout the year (within reason), and this year, I've already been to Japan in August to see my girlfriend. Yes, a long-distance relationship. I guess that was my birthday present.
For Xmas, I'm getting what I got for my last Christmas and my last birthday.....a trip to Japan.

The ticket was only around $850-900 USD round trip, including all taxes. I worked and earned around $3000 for my trips, so I guess I paid for the last trip myself, and along with this coming trip. Do they count as a gift?
Again, I never really get a Christmas gift. I guess I bought some clothes for my birthday with my mum's money.
This year, however, I am going to get myself a gift:
- Nikon D300 DSLR
- an SB-400 flash
- Nikon 55-200 mm VR lens. Holy crapcakes it's going to be a good Christmas!!!
- getting away with collecting the tax money back when I leave the country.
But each year, the biggest present is being able to see my girlfriend.

My only wish is to spend time with my girlfriend, and to get my new D300 before my trip!! I'd be crushed if I didn't get my camera before leaving for Japan.
Wow, I like the green one.
