MBP would not wake up from sleep so I held down the start button till it shut off, now when I go to start I can hear the disk spin up and the light comes on but no start up noise and the screen stay dark.

07 MBP will not start revised.

Now I am thinking it may be the video card? After various resets now I am getting the start up noise. So just for the heck of it I wanted to see if I could log in. After start I waited a few minutes until I figured the log in window was there, I logged in.....waited a few more minutes to give the desktop a chance to come up then I adjusted the volume to see if it made the adjust volume noise, which it did. Am I wrong or does that tell me that the computer was on?
Also it makes the appropriate wake from sleep noises. I also connected to a remote moniter, still a black screen.
