'08 MBP boots into sleep mode after BootCamp installation

As the title says my 08 mbp boots into sleep mode after having installed Windows 7 the screen went black and the LED on the front started breathing just like sleep mode, now I can't get it out of it. I've done a hard shutdown (holding the power button for 10 seconds) no dice. When i push the button again it powers up and goes to sleep, just black screen no chimes or anything!

I'm at a loss now. oh by the way there's no dvd in the drive.
