09 Mac Mini 2.26 choking

I have a 2.26 2009 Mac Mini. EIGHT gigs of ram in it.

It chokes when rendering an iPhoto slide show.

I don't get it. Running 10.5.8

Should I upgrade?

well i'd update to snow leopard, but i don't know if that will help (SL is supposed to make things faster and snappier).

I dont know why you haven't upgraded to 10.6 yet...

You would have better performance, and much better video drivers than you do in 10.5.8 with 10.6.4.
