My girlfriend and I both updated to Mountain Lion she has an 10' and I have an 09' and they both seem to fun slower than previous to Mountain Lion especially if I try to run iPhoto 11' but either way even without running many apps it still seems slower, then yesterday she had an update to that and now when she tries to run Safari or iTunes she is getting error messages that say her apps may not be compatible with Mountain Lion. What the heck ?

Do you perform any kinds of maintenance to your macs? If not, I would reccomend downloading Onyx for mountain lion and have a good maintenance session with it in order to see if that helps.
