Hey all,

Thinking of bringing an iPhone up to Canada on next trip. The person I am getting it for just wants it unlocked so she can use the iPod / wifi / pda type features right now. In other words, she doesn't care about SIM unlocking, EDGE, or using the phone at the moment.

So, with the new firmware, can the unlocking apps like INdependence still do their thing?

Cheers!

Isn't this what the iPod Touch is for?

Not my call. As I said in my original post, it isn't for me.

So, on to question at hand...

you didnt mention the touch at all,

but no if you read anything, it all says nothing will jailbreak your phone (yet)!
