1.1.3 JB: common problems + solutions!

I never heard of that problem. Try to update the Installer and if that doesn't work try what I said above.
 
That's weird since when I use to get the "Main Execution Script Error" I typed in the commands and they worked. You might want to download the latest Installer.app files online and then try the commands.

Well since I recently jail broke my touch again, Im pretty sure my installer files that youve referenced are fine. Lots of stuff downloads fine from installer but here and there I still get the error messages. One thing I can't get to work is iphysics. I can get the stock package games to work, but the expansion packs don't. I've tried the fix that you're supposed to download after installing a new package but it never works.
 
I followed the directions for merging Music and Video, except I did not back up my Info.plist.
And now Im stuck with no Music or Video Icons, making it impossible to access my music.

Any body willing to post their stock info.plist for 1.1.3?


And also, where is the Wallpaper folder found?

It's not impossible to access your music because if you merged them then you have the "iPod" icon. Just touch that and your in. To get the "Music" and "Videos" icons back just go into the installer and find the iPodFix2 or something like that.

Looks like your permissions are wrong. Look at my guide for fixing permissions. It's in my signature.

Sorry, didnt clarify.
Im well aware of how the iPod.app will work, as I had it in 1.1.2.
When I copied the supplied plist, I am left with nothing.
No iPod.app, no music icon, and no videos icon; thus leaving me unable to access my music.

Merging Video+Music icons
Download this file, unzip it and drop the Info.plist into /Applications/MobileMusicPlayer.app, overwriting the one that is there. You might want to back up the existing one, just in case. Respring, and you will have just the iPod app.

Now, if you want to change the wording when you double-tap the home button from "music" to "iPod" you can download this file and drop the enclosed file into /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/English.lproj overwriting the file there. This file has all the other default strings so if you've changed them with Customize this file will change them back to original.


Installer crashes
After installing the latest update for installer.app you may find it crashing every time you try to install something, popping up a 'main script error' window. This is how I fixed it. Enter the following two commands in term-vt100 or in Terminal on your Mac (to use Terminal on your Mac, enter this command: "ssh root@YOURIPODSIPADDRESS" minus the quotation marks, of course, after which you will be prompted for the password "alpine")

chmod +s /Applications/Installer.app/Installer
chown -R root:wheel /Applications/Installer.app

After entering these two commands, installer.app should work fine!


TERM-VT100 password error
After doing a 1.1.3 JB you may find it impossible to use terminal on your iPod. The solution is simple. Go to installer and add the source www.trejan.com/irepo then find SUID Lib Fix and install that, then find Term-vt100 SUID Fix and install that. After restarting your iPod, terminal will work fine with the password "alpine".


Summerboard themes don't show up
The location of the themes has been changed with the latest version, and sources have to change where they download to. The old location was /private/var/root/Library/SummerBoard/Themes and the new location is /private/var/mobile/SummerBoard/Themes. If you SSH into your Touch, just move the Themes in the old location to the new one and they will show up.


Maps' Hybrid view doesn't work
Go to var/mobile/Library/Library/Caches/MapTiles and delete the file MapTiles.sqlitedb which is the cache for the maps app. The next time you launch Maps, hybrid view should work fine. Sometimes it doesn't start to work until after you have zoomed to the maximum level, after which it works at all zoom levels. An odd little bug.

When you merge the Music & Video Icons, it works perfectly, only CHECK OUT when you click Music after a Home-Double-Tap and it opens up MUSIC, not iPod. No matter if you change it to iPod. Try it and see. Also a Fix would be wonderful.

If you don't believe me, after the H-D-T, there is no Videos Option in the App that the iPod/Music Button opened. In the iPod App there is, but not the App that the H-D-T uses.
