If you have OS 10 in doesn't matter... Two processers are better than one in any way you look at it if you use OS 10... OS 10 splits the tasks evenly amongst both processors, and with some luck maybe we'll get dual 1.5 ghz Powermacs which will be able to run OS 10 like good ol' 9!

Is their a possibility buying a GF4 off the store for my quicksilver? I don't feel like buying a whole new mac...

Hey evil dead. Yah i remember you. and i am more calm. Had a little time to relax I suppose. I really had no intention of coming back any time soon, but when I heard about this I thought of all of you. Aren't I sweet? Plus I am still mad at Apple for other reasons so I figure why the hell not.

Anyway, if I ever hear of something really secret and cool I'll be sure to let you know, but that is unlikely at this point. I can tell you Apple is still hiring many support technicians for G4 telephone support. My guess (and this is only a guess) is that Apple wants to release G5s as soon as possible and dispose of what G4 chips they have in stock. Why not just give us Quad-Processor G4s!!! Let us re-create starwars 1 on our Macs and throw away Georges version!!

-theres some ranting for ya.

that would be great. I would love to toss that crappy version. I hated it. and now that INSYNC s in the next one... i dont think I am going to see it.

Thanks for comming by to post some info. Its allways good to hear new Mac Gossup.

bye bye

re: shut the hell up

i think most people here have more fun speculating on things than anything else.

to actually just KNOW the product would turn this forum into a regular techspeak POS like every other PC board in the world. either that or n00bz take over and then SomeAppleGuy falls in love.

LOL newbies

sparkleytone thats funny there has been alot of newbie around lately which is good because they add a new perspective and in many way remind me of myself a year ago when I started reading the posts and it wasn't until june that I registered and posted some info on MWNY 01" which once again I was dissapointed from. But this MW we had so many newbie cuz of Apples publicity. Then the site crashed which was the first time ever i beleive.

It sounds like the lineup will be something like this..

Single 733Mhz @1599.00
Dual 800Mhz
Single 933Mhz
Dual 1000Mhz @2999.00

I agree with SlipJack. After all this is MACRUMORS!!! If you do not like it don't come here. And if Apple really was interested in keeping things secret they would not send Apple Stores the items before they were announced, they would not let Time Magazine publish an artical before an announcement, they would not POST THEIR new computers on their OWN WEBSITE before they announced them.

Get real, if you want to keep things secret you can and will. Apple is just not very good at it. After all they are only a computer company, not the US Government.

I usually take everything with a grain of salt....

but I've said in the past that I won't put all of my eggs in just one basket...

which means I'm not going to believe what I'm reading here....

and not going to dismiss it either...

btw....nice to see u back SomeAppleGuy ;)

ps: this does make u wonder whatever happened to the band kid and his 1 Ghz PowerBook doesn't it?

No, I already know what happened to him. His band teacher told him to stay after close to see his Gigahertz. Long story short, the band teacher is now in Jail.

hey DANTEC, OSX sucks at preemptive multithreading

dude, OSX isn't that great at threading schtuff through both procs. the server version is sexy with the multitasking-multithreading through both proc's simply because it requires the higher bandwidth. but the consumer version's kernel is multiproc aware but isn't optimized to keep both procs warm.
