Why did I choose a 64 gb iPhone 6 last year

39 gig remaining 1.5 years later.

It's been excellent since upgrading from 5.

As contactless payments were my main 'selling' point, I can't think of 1 reason at all to consider 7.

Anyway, what does one do with 39gb data?

I always get the max capacity Apple offers. Not because I need it but simply cause I WANT it.

128GB iPhone 6s+. 80GB left.

It is bad to fill phone storage up completely. Slows down the phone when it's nearly full.

Same for any SSD or flash storage device.

Up until Spotify, 64 GB would have been very appealing to me. 32GB is my sweet spot now. I'm still running around with a good 1/2 of that free, but again, Spotify and even Amazon music. I can "download" so I can listen on a plane or where I may not have internet. I don't worry much about my library outside what is on an old iPod in my truck. My truck doesn't support BT for music and such, so I still use an add on that I had installed in 2009 which also uses the old iPod cable.

These days, I can't ever see myself buying an iPhone with more than 32 GB. iPad, that's sort of another story.

Now here is a thread I can relate to. My iPhone 5 was 16 gig and almost maxed out when the 6 came out. I had planned on getting the 32 gig for 100 more the 64 was all that was available. Though I don't have a very big music library, I am still left with 34 gig available now. I won't have to upgrade my phone now until the 8 comes out. Pictures are just fine, and the battery is also lasting me most of the day. I am a trucker, so when it gets low, I just plug it in and keep on driving.

89.6GB free, and I feel fine about it!

sometimes it's nice when traveling to download an entire TV series. If it's on your phone you don't need wifi to binge watch a bunch of shows on a 4 hour flight.

Thanks for the t.v. advice, with Skygo extra iOS 9.3 compatible past few days, downloading t.v. is my best option to use some free data.

I use about 32 GB on my 64. A 16 GB model is not enough, but I think I could've gotten by with a 32 if they had offered it. I'll probably go with 64 again this year for the iPhone 7+.

If Apple offered a 32gb it would have still been the 2nd tier memory option and cost would have been the same. I don't know about you but I'd rather pay 750$ for a 64gb instead of a 32gb phone.
That's why I mentioned a 32GB "base model" (so no 16GB option).

Download the entire contents of Dropbox via the documents app?

I am using a 64 gb iPhone 6S+ and have about 16 gb of free space. Just saying.

Better to have extra space than not enough space. That way if you ever come across a must have something, you know you'll have space for it.

32, 128, and 256, perhaps? Maybe even 32 for $650 and 128 for $800, similar to the iPad Pro.
Yeah, some combination that's going to be a win/win for them no matter which capacity you choose. Not that it's wrong or a bad thing (for Apple anyway) but it's not the customer they will be considering when it comes to choice of capacity.

Although I don't think they are ready to get rid of 16GB. Too much of a money maker. Entry level, gets those who want an iPhone but don't want to pay more than they have to in to the ecosystem and makes Apple money off iCloud storage as compensation for not buying the higher capacity models.
