This might be a dumb question, but what will happen if I install 2GB of DDR2-800 PC2-6400 240 PIN RAM into my 1.9 G5 PowerPC 17" iMac?
I got some RAM for it and the RAM was apparently bad, since it was making the iMac freeze. Put my old 512mb back in and it works fine, but now on the prowl for another 2gb of RAM.
Looking at this one, which is DDR2-800 PC2-6400, from my understanding, you're supposed to have PC2-5300?
What exactly will happen if I install this other RAM? Will it just downclock it to maximum capability and work fine? Will it work at all?
