Surely this is not intentional behavior right? This has to be a bug, right?? Because if it's not, it is poorly implemented.

Multiple post about this already. Whether it is a bug or by design (non Apple analog watches are always shown at 10:09: we don’t know). Report it to Apple if it bothers you that much. Personally I don’t see the issue for a split second of seeing that particular time.

No, doesn't have to be a bug, it could be by design. Keep the data for inactive faces our of memory (and away from the CPU) then when they need to be activated they display the 10:09 screen while the data is built.

Nobody is changing faces constantly.

Exactly this. I genuinely can’t get my head round people having an issue with this. Now, if it showed 10:09 momentarily when raising the watch to look at the time, that I would get. And absolutely that would be a bug. But this is nothing.

If you watch the video in the beginning, it shows 8:41 when it's off, 10:09 for a second on wake up, and then back to 8:41 again. You don't see that as an issue? You don't see a problem with this being a very visual glitch for the time...on a watch? Apple is a company that prides itself on minor details. This is the same company that makes the insides of the device beautiful even though nobody will ever see it.

My standards are not low and neither is Apple's, which is why I think there is no way this is intentional. It is likely a bug they are aware of and couldn't fix on time, which also explains why the setting is so hidden. I would be very surprised if they don't release a fix for this in the next update.

Aahhhh sorry yes now I see it right at the beginning. That is the exact same issue someone else has mentioned.

Yes you are right, that has to be a bug and I would like to think it would be sorted on the next release. But this is Apple and I don’t hold any faith in them anymore, and haven’t for many years unfortunately.

But now seeing it, I really do understand your frustration. I really do recommend you report it.

They simply have to take the code from WatchOS9.
If it was that easy, they probably would have done it

I don't know anything about coding, but it looks like maybe a way to save battery life by showing a static screenshot instead of the face in real time? I recall them doing something like this with multi-tasking or when launching apps in the past.

10:09 from wake is an issue for sure. Someone else reported the same problem. Unpair and then re-pair fixed it for them, without restoring from backup.

I definitely see the 10:09 when you switch faces, but somehow, even after a few times through the video, I don't see it before that.
