I am among the (apparently) lucky few who have a maxed-out Retina iMac and have no major problems with performance, lag or overheating. That being said, there's never too much smoothness and I know some of you have had issues.

I'm currently not at home and only on my MBA so I can't install the new update on my iMac, so out of curiosity and also to get the discussion going, I would like to ask you what your experience with 10.10.2 on your machine is.

Are things smoother, more responsive, better optimized? Are there new driver versions for our cards?

10.10.2 is smooth on my i7/32/512/4GB M295X retina iMac.

No difference, other than the fact that wi-fi seems more stable now and that Thunderstrike is now patched.

On 10.10.1 i saw speeds around 800 Mbps on Wifi with my Retina iMac connected to an Airport Extreme with 802.11ac. On 10.10.2 this speed is now down to 200 Mbps.

I've tried to reset the PRAM, and after that I saw speeds around 1100 Mbps. But after 30 seconds it went back to 200 Mbps.

Anyone else seeing this?

Same here. The glitch with laggy mission control animations is gone too :)

Speaking from my own experience on a "Full Monty" retina iMac, it's a big improvement, but it's not quite buttery smooth. It's still a little jerky like a low frame rate video, but a huge improvement over the jarring stuttering and lag that was there before. The graphic glitches in Time Machine are gone as well and it seemed to go in and out of TM much quicker and smoother.

I noticed Mission Control was a bit more smooth on my rMBP when I installed the last 10.10.2 beta build. Glad to see they're finally addressing some of those issues with lag.

Thunderstrike was already patched on the Retina iMac and 2014 Mac mini.

I still have the MC corruption on certain apps issue on 10.10.2.

I think there is a placebo effect or sometime a placebo effect in reverse with these apple updates. They publish a list of fixes and people imagine all sorts of hidden things. Likely just coincidences or isolated anomalies. People read too much into these updates and give Apple too much credit for trying to fix things that might not even be on their radar at all.
