Hi Everyone,

Perhaps someone can provide you with the 10.10.2 kext file (IO80211Family.kext.) for an early 2013 macbook pro retina? I recently was having issues with the wifi on my computer and i accidentally removed the one on there and installed an incorrect one.

Now my computer says Wi-Fi: No hardware installed

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Sergio

If you have a Time Machine backup, you can extrapolate the single file from an earlier time, or completely revert to a time just before you messed up.

If you don't have a Time Machine backup, you can boot via Command +R and select reinstall OS X. Your personal files won't be bothered.

Either method should get you fixed.

Thank you so much for the suggestion unfortunately the reinstall of the OS X didn't work.

Any other suggestions?

try and reset the SMC....I believe it is left shift-option-command and the power key all together. You need to shutdown, be plugged in, and then hold the keys until you see the power light change.

Search SMC reset for your particular model. Sometimes it varies by model.

This is why you need a functioning Time Machine. Period.
