So I have these two issues.

One is several "Google Chrome" updates, figuring on my HD. They can't be ejected, nor do they show up in Disk Utility.

My other observation is a "Not Responding" SpotlightNetHelper in the Activity Monitor.

They don't seem to create any problems so far. Just wanted to share.

I run the third build 10.10.

Yeah, Im seeing the same issue with the spotlight net thing- not sure what that is exactly but I just force quit it and it went away- one thing I did notice was that my fans were funning pretty high and about a minute after I forced it to stop, they went down...

Make that three, it was making my machine just crawl. It took me a while to discover it. I was ready to re-image my iMac because it was just awful. My MBA was working fine and could't figure out why the iMac was terrible. Turns out that spotlightNetHelper was the culprit.

Same problem with spotlightnethelper, but didn't use up so much processor.

    What's it for anyway?

I have the same issue with that process and two others. I submitted a bug report. I just Force Quit it after every boot by practice now.

Ya know I see it in my Activity Monitor too but I do not notice any problems cause by this because Spotlight is running fine on my Late 2013 Mac.

Add another for SpotlightNetHelper not responding. Along with that I also have com.apple.geod not responding too.

SpotlightNetHelper is 'fixed' in DP5. So it will likely be 'fixed' in B2.

Oddly by 'fixing' Apple removed the Process.

Com.apple.geod is a location service. If you don't have WiFi (or it's cut off) this happens. Apple still needs to fix this.

I'd guessed about the location part, and I do connect by ethernet but WiFi is on, just unconnected. Location shows fine in Maps so it's likely something that will get sorted.

I like the "fixed by removing" idea. I know some people I'd like to fix that way :D

So what do I do about this spotlightnethelper?

Wait for the public beta update?

    Same story for com.apple.geod too

I'd guess so. If it's not causing any issues then just leave it til they fix it.

Having the same problem with com.apple.geod

Shows as not responding. WiFi is fine and connected with no drops.

Finding A LOT of bugs in Yosemite. Seems like a long way off release.
