Hi, thanks for you help.
Yesterday while watching a youtube video with Safari, computer froze.I Restarted have not been successful in breathing life back into the machine. Tried all methods from OS X Utilities
OS X Utilities
Disk Utility - indicates base system disk only
Disk 0
Mac OS X Base System -
This is all that shows: First Aid, Erase, Partition and restore are greyed out. Cannot access thru utility
Reinstall Mac OSX is link to original operating system 10.7 Lion and not Sierra.
When I Select disk to install the OS X says
Untitled
This disk doesn't use the GUID Partition Table scheme. Use Disk Utility to change the partition....
Restore from Time Machine Backup
Select Backup Source
I Click on theTime Machine backup last date and is says
Mac OS x version 10.13.2 (17C205)
then click/ Hitting continue - message is
Restore Destination disk - Searching for disk
goes nowhere and cannot restore, it just stays there
Get Help Online - takes me to the web
I can get to the internet Thru Safari, but format for web pages posted are out of wack, with formatting issues.
I have tried to download "Fix" apps, but get error.
I cannot download files to this computer but am able to download files to usb flash drive. When I try to open flashdrive download file, get error message.
So it seems the startup disk is somehow not available.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Dan
