On my 2018 Mac Mini, I see AppleIntelKBLGraphics (Kaby Lake) and AppleIntelCFLGraphicsFramebuffer (Coffee Lake) extensions loaded.

With macOS 10.14.2 these extensions were both version 12.4.7.1 - with macOS 10.14.3 they are now version 12.4.7.2.

We'll probably never know what changed, just an observation :) I was looking for better monitor wake-from-sleep support. Too early to tell.

Curiously, both 12.4.7.1 and 12.4.7.2 have the same Last Modified date of 11/26/18 at 11:31PM - so doesn't bode well for significant changes.

What kind of issues are you having with wake from sleep?

I'm too having issues and Apple has been trying to fix it.

Just random issues with waking from sleep. I have two LG 27" 4K monitors - 27UD58P-B and occasionally when they wake up, part of screen won't be visible and it will say "out of range". Or one of two screens won't wake at all without plugging/unplugging/etc..

And they don't seem to remember the resolution they are set to. I use scaling resolutions to improve readability, and I find that the scaling resolution is sometimes wrong.

I've not been running 10.14.3 long enough to tell if the situation improved, but no issues waking my mac mini this morning.

My MM loves to do this thing where it'll stop sending output to the display (it'll just turn into static). A manual plug and unplug of the screen fixes it...

I would find this irritatingly enough to return the computer or buy an Apple optimized monitor.

We have low wait times/screen ons with our mobile devices and I expect the same from my desktop.

I guess I’ve lost all patience.

I’m using both a 27” iMac and a 2018 Mac mini, the latter with an Asus ProArt 32” 4K screen and an Acer 2K screen.

The reality is that the iMac displays work seamlessly and external displays can be a bit fiddly. Now that they are set up, I’m not having any problems with the external displays, but they are inherently less plug and play than the display on an iMac, Apple laptop, iPad or iPhone.

The Ultrafine 5K display might be more seamless, but I am now completely sold on 32” displays and won’t go back. Also, I use an eGPU and I refuse to pay the ridiculous price for a Black Magic eGPU, which is the only one that works with the 5K Ultrafine.

I’d really like to see Apple get back into the display business, and as part of that make a 32” model and support more colour spaces than DCI-P3, in particular Adobe RGB. HDR support on at least one model would be nice too.

I’ve had no wakeups/startups or any other type of connection/scaling issues with the 4KUltrafine. The monitor behaves the same as my previous iMac. Perfect. As it should for the price.

New monitors may be released this year. Regardless if it's branded LG for Apple or an official Apple Display(most likely an LG panel), the performance will be the same. imo

After disabling computer sleep (not monitor), wake up times are immediate for me. Not worth putting the computer to sleep if it does that. I think I also disabled it on my PC because I had scheduled jobs in the middle of the night and didn't want sleep to interfere.
