Before 10.4.2 I had AVI files playing fine before (when I downloaded DIVX codec thing)

Now it appears to not work anymore. I have tried
Repair Permissions
Reinstalling VLC
Reinsalling DIVX

What Can I do? Anyother player I can use? etc. THanks

That's very odd. VLC is usually pretty solid about most stuff QT turns it nose up to.

Try MPlayer, it's a viable alternative to VLC and sometimes even has a better framerate.

Are you certain you could play these .avi files before? AVI comes in many different flavors, if you don't have the codecs, they won't play.

i think the culprit might be the divx codec. when i frist moved to 10.4 i had the same problem. i had to go back to divx 5.1 instead of 5.2 and it corrected the problem. you might try that.

I have DiVX and 3iVX installed and everything is just dandy...

That is weird that VLC wont play the file, usually it plays just about everything

Do you have the latest version of VLC?
