What happens if you're summing percentage?

So:

12% + 13% + 25%

Do you get 0.5?

Or does it now try to do percentages of percentages? And ending up with:

.12 + (13% of .12) + ( 25% of (.12 + (13% of .12)) )

The latter...0.1395.

new 10.4.6 update supposedly resolves a % problem:

"Updates Calculator so that the percentage button ("%") will no longer divide, under certain circumstances, when you expect it to calculate percentage—this could happen in Mac OS X 10.4.3 through 10.4.5."

It's basicly the same answer the first one is just in a simpler form. Do the update you'll get the answer you want.:)

Way 10.4.6 fixed the calculator!!!!!!
From where I sit, this update fixed nothing. It fixed nothing because nothing was wrong. The behavior originally described by you is the difference between having the calculator is RPN mode (ala most HP calculators) which yields 62.4, and algebraic mode (ala most non-HP calculators) which yields 86.8. It is an easy thing for the unobservant user not to notice the RPN in the calculator's display.
