The thread is rumors is getting a bit long, so please share your minor and major horror stories concerning the 10.4.9 update here.
The disk image you are opening may be damaged and could damage your system.
Are you sure you want to open this disk image?
this is minor, but I guess that's what this thread is for...
I play warcraft 3 off of a disk image (yes, I legally own the game... 2 copies, in fact ) so that I don't have to bother with a physical CD. Since updating, when I mount the image, I get this message:
...
With options to Open/Don't Open. It just to just mount the CD image in about a second. No big deal, but a minor annoyance.
This is probably in response to all the "Month of Apple Bugs" bugs that dealt with Disk Utility. They likely couldn't actually FIX the issues in that short of a time, but adding a warning is a decent-enough first step.
Yes, this is a new feature. It will (hopefully) prevent any accidental disk ejections (especially one notebooks). My eject button doesn't seem to work well. It seems to not work at all or it is delayed or I have to push it a lot before it does work.

10.4.9 update hung on iBook G3, then would not boot past the grey screen, apple logo never appears.
Eventually booted into safe mode, (hold shift at chime) Repaired Permissions in Disk Utility and ran Automation in Onyx, rebooted. all good now (after about 3hrs of mild concern).
Also 10.4.9 added iSync support for the SE K610i phone - woo hoo.

Just hold it down for a second and your disk will eject.
