Hi guys, long time reader of MacRumors.
I ran into some trouble with the new update and the "unsupported" AirDisk + Time Machine saying that the backup was delayed and further inspection into the System Preferences told me that it couldn't mount the disk.
So this is what I did to get it up and working again, although I don't have any responsibilities if your machine blows up in your face with kernel panics but it seemed relatively safe to me.
1) Go to System Preferences
2) Click Sharing
3) Change your Computer Name, mine was "iMac 24" so I just changed it to "iMac 24trial"
4) Back up using Time Machine, make sure everything is connected properly
5) Cross your fingers!
6) If all successful (or even if it failed again) remember to change your Computer Name back to what it originally was.
I hope this helps someone, it worked for me and I still have all my previous backups working.
Cheers,
Nickel.
