Over the weekend I loaded 10.5 Server onto my semi-retired mac mini so hopefully it will act as a server/access point for the other macs in the house. I have a wired router between the mini and the cable modem and I purchased a Oxfortec WUBR-505 USB WiFi Adapter to upgrade the mini to Wireless draft-n and 5gHz. The USB adapter has the same chipset the same as the NewerTech USB Stick. Difference being the inclusion of 5gHz operation on the OxfordTec.

Both use a Ralink RT2870 chipset, whereas a driver is available on the Ralink website or bundled with the NewerTech one.

As it stands now the server is up and running. Files are being shared. Wireless dongle is recognized by my system as (en2). My problem is how do I get internet sharing to look at the USB adapter as an port that sharing can be done over? I can turn off the built-in Airport card and use the Ralink app to connect to other wireless network. So how do you configure 10.5 or the Ralink/NewerTech utility to create a secure wireless network utilizing the adapter?

I did find this which has helped make the awful Ralink interface go away. Got it running but still no creation of a network.
