Hi friends!

I am going to gift my 12.9 inch ipad pro to my husband and start using a 10.5 inch ipad pro everyday. I have loved the ASK for the 12.9 and have been planning to get the 10.5 inch version for my new ipad this weekend. The reviews on the apple website are horrible! Is it true that it won't lay down?

I guess my main question is this: Is the quality of the smaller version comparable to larger version? I have been excited to go pick up the ASK and the leather sleeve this weekend and now I am feeling a little worried. Please advise.

Thanks in advance!

Some users have found that the front of the ASK tilts up slightly - mine does not. I think it's mainly due to stiffness in the cover joints and can be worked out. I believe that overall quality is the same - at least I can't discern a difference between my 10.5's and my brother's 12.9.

I bought my ASK for 10.5 this past November from Amazon. Mine is perfect—it lays flat and there’s no bounce when I type on it, whether on the desktop or on my lap. (Maybe there was a bad batch of 10.5 ASKs). Also, the spacing between keys feels normal and full-sized, not cramped like the 9.7 ASK.

I think I will buy it and test it in the store to make sure it lays down before I take it home. I'm happy to hear the quality is the same.

Thank you for mentioning the spacing. I was hoping it wouldn't feel cramped. I am excited to get it!

I bought my ASK for the 10.5 in June.. After 6 months of intense use it still looks like new and everything is working properly... I had the 9.7 iPad with the ASK before and I have to admit, that the 10,5 feels by far more natural when typing on it because of the increased size... I really like it and I use it a lot :)

The 10.5 keyboard has some features the 12.9 does not. 1. When you flip the cover around the back both sides magnetize to the back. 2. The Apple Pencil magnetizes to the top on the cover. As for it not laying flat just hold the keyboard under the space bar with the ipad attached and the weight will bend it flat without damaging anything.

I actually do find it slightly cramped compared to the ASK for the 12.9, but your mileage may vary. Looking at the two side by side, it doesn’t LOOK like there should be much difference, so I think I could get used to the 10.5 keyboard. But my first impression of the 10.5 ASK was that I didn’t like it as much.

I needed like one week to get used to it, at the beginning it seamed it would make my hands hurt after long uses, but now I am using it for everything, no other keyboard (but the software one). Back to iPad as main device and remote access to desktops.

I got the ASK and the fushia pink leather sleeve today. I am worried I will miss my 12.9, because I also remote access other computers and use iPad for all of my computing, so I worry I will need a bigger screen. I can say that I think I am going to love carrying around a lighter device though. I’m using the ASK right now and I am not seeing a whole lot of difference in the typing experience from the 12.9, so that’s a plus. I guess we will see how long it takes me to get used to using this 10 inch screen everyday for all things. Did anyone else have issues switching from the larger size?

I just recently switched from the 12.9 and really like it. At first it was a little strange getting used to it, but I’m liking the smaller form factor. I use it for note taking in business meetings. Just today I had a meeting and used it to show information in a spreadsheet and then could quickly pull up notability to take notes at a lunch meeting. Very happy I switched. I have the ASK and the Tech 21 back case from apple that has a detachable Apple Pencil holder that is also very convenient.

I’m typing on mine now and it lays flat. It’s perfect. I sold my 12.9 for same reason too big and went to the 10.5 and wished I had done it sooner. Bought the ASK and went on Amazon to buy the back cover protector that fists the ASK, and it had a pencil slot to hold the Apple Pencil. It works great. :)

I wanted to the get the 10.5 ASK but read an alarmingly high number of complaints that all had to do with premature failures of the keyboard.

I loved mine but I think I might need to take it back in. It just stops working randomly and then I have to disconnect it and reattach it to get it to work again.

Are you referring to the ASK?
[doublepost=1532553062][/doublepost]I’ll be sending back my Logitech Case as I have decided to purchase a refurb 13” 2017 MacBook Pro. Turns out the iPad Pro won’t be enough. I’ll keep the pad and Pencil for notes but will need to keep a laptop.

Yes, 10.5. Sometimes it works just fine other times it will just stop working mid sentence.

I just got mine today and I love it! I was basically considering whether to get an iPad Pro only and have this as my laptop replacement (given I only use it for email, note taking at university, and surfing the internet). The keyboard has already assured me I made the right choice.

No laptop for me now. Full iPad!

Don't you just love it??? I am barely using my old MacBook right now. I have quite a few files though that I need to get sorted out and formatted, but that's about the ONLY thing I am using it for. Everything else is on the ipadPro. So much more convienent. Glad you switched over!!! :)

Sounds good, some answers I was wanting thanks.

Could you take a picture of where the pencil sits please? Interested in this, do you need an attachment for the pencil for it to so this?

Thanks
