10.6.1, What is the normal Mac routine

I've read enough today to conclude it would be prudent to wait for 10.6.1 before upgrading. I have already received SL.

Questions for long time Mac Users.

1. Once 10.6.1 is released, will I be able to use the CD's I rec'd today and then proceed with update via the software update routine.

2. Should I expect to wait weeks or months?

1. Yes. Install from the DVD, then Software Update.

2. Usually several weeks.
