Subject: Re: coolbook for 10.6.2?

Dear CoolBook user,

I'm getting a lot of questions regarding the 10.6.2 update. Here is some information about it.

The current SL CoolBook beta does not work with OS X 10.6.2.
I will release a fixed version later this week.

Your current CoolBook installation does not interfere with OS X, so you don't have to uninstall it. Turn off throttling to disable CoolBook completely until the update is released.

The dialog window about the update is a bug. No update was performed.

A working uninstaller will of course be included in the next release.
Do not use any third party uninstallers. If you need to manually uninstall CoolBook, let me know so I can help you.

Best regards,

Magnus Lundholm

2.16 is working on my Rev. A with 10.6.2 as well.

Perhaps of note, I had to do an "Uninstall" from the CoolBook preferences before I could re-install 2.16 properly. Just copying over the new application did not work (even with reboots).

How did you uninstall on Coolbook 2.15. It will not let me uninstall. (Failed to uninstall). Hence, i just copied coolbook 2.16 on top of 2.15. But the problem is that 2.16 just hangs. The coolbookcontroller will just sit and not show any window.

Any suggestions?

For me:
1. I copied 2.16 over 2.15
2. Opened CoolBook Controller, got error messages
3. Opened Preferences
4. Clicked "Uninstall"
5. Rebooted
6. Deleted CoolBook Controller (and let Hazel clean up related files)
7. Recopied CoolBook
8. Opened CoolBook Controller; it then installed the driver
9. Rebooted
10. Opened CoolBook Controller, adjusted settings

I don't have any other suggestions, other than sending the developer an email...

Uninstall CoolBook 2.15

Hi,

here's the advice I got to get rid of version 2.15. Worked for me.
"Are you using the SL version of CoolBook 2.15?
If so, delete the old kext using the terminal command:

sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/CoolBook2.kext"

You can of course also do it in Finder.

Good luck
