Does 10.6 have the ability to write to ntfs partititons, (external brives usb) or do i still need ntfs-3g installed

Good to know and there are other softwares out there as well.
But 1 question. Are there anyone standalone ones that read/write ntfs on 10.6 or 10.5.
Not ones that come in pkg format and leave peaces all over the place by installing and are hard to remove.
But a standalone one that comes as a single app that I can just move to my apps folder without installing it. Something to read/write to ntfs.
