Can any one else verify that in 10.6 that it is impossible to use a mouse scroll wheel to change the volume after clicking on the volume icon?

Note: I do not mean on the volume scroll bar control itself. I mean directly on top of the volume icon.

I think you mean hovering over the menubar volume control. If so, then yes, it's impossible. Even if you click on it, you have to move the cursor over the slider portion of the control to use the scroll wheel (or, two-finger trackpad scrolling).

That really sucks. Why do the programmers always take away good functionality? Arg~

Thank you.

Hasn't it always been scrolling while your mouse was over the slider? This behaviour is consistent throughout the entire OS, from background windows to well...sliders.

confirmed working on 10.6.1

left click on icon in menu bar, hold left click and move pointer to the blue dot and scroll away works fine here

Both of you read again please.

Over the icon.
