Keyboard Backlight Won't Turn Off 10.7.4

MBP keyboard backlight won't turn off and stay off in 10.7.4. Never had this problem in 10.7.3 or before. I do not use the backlight and want it to stay off.

The System Preferences selection under Keyboard does not respond, as it did in many OS X revs.

Any (software) fixes ?

On 10.7.4, my Mac wouldn't restart properly when there are external hard drives connected and mounted. It will stay stuck on the grey screen, and when I press the power button, it returns me to the login screen without rebooting or shutting down.

The "Reopen windows when logging back in" settings is still crap. It actually remembers your last setting prior to a restart/reboot. So if you happen to check the option before that, it will stay checked on your next restart/reboot until it is unchecked again. It is not permanently unchecked for every restart/rebooting.

End up CCC'ed Lion to an external partition and Time Machined SL back to my primary drive.

I saw that too...

Generally i am satisfied,10.7.3 and 10.7.4 are good updates but after a all year long struggle with lion and many clean installs to optimize it for my needs i feel a sucker...

Nah... Even with a clean install of 10.7.3 the first thing I see was a bug - Finder menu disappeared... Can you imagine that...? This is from a clean install. With 10.7.4 and that restart bug, I don't wanna waste my time anymore with crappy Lion and quickly downgrade back to SL...

Yeah don't bother just wait for ML i have it in a partition and it looks very promising.Another thing that i still test if it fixed in 10.7.4 is previous "fat" memory management i done some editing in final cut pro and play RAGE a little it seems improved but its to early just yesterday i install the update.

I am seriously tempted to downgrade. 10.7.4 has been my worst experience ever with any Mac OS update, which is saying a lot.

Many bugs. Keyboard backlighting, network preferences, display preferences, inability to open peripherals, and more. Lion has been poor performing but latest update has blocked many routine functions. Snow Leopard worked well.

Heat

I updated my Macbook (white unibody late 09') in hopes that it would help with the temperature issue, but still no changes here.

I dont know what it is, but most of the people that i see complaining about the temperature would be those with Macs running with a core 2 duo (mainly the early 2010 models and before).

Was Lion specifically made for core i series processors?

Im just hoping that mountain lion will fix this problem in the future.:(
