Sorry if this has been asked / answered. I've searched to no avail.

It seems that in Lion you can only specify one way or the other to invoke the secondary click.

In SL i could either use bottom right corner of track pad, or 2 finger click.

Is there anyway to re-enable the same functionality in Lion??? I'd like to be able to use both interchangeably.

Here's what you've missed...a small drop down arrow in the Trackpad options...

I for one really miss the tap/drag option.

    Harrison Davies---

You misunderstood. I know the down arrow, but you can only have ONE METHOD at a time.

on SL I could either use either 2 finger click, or bottom right of track pad.

now you can only use one method you select from that drop down.

Unless you know of a fix?

    Thx!

Is there a native solution without 3rd party apps?

Probably not. That's how Apple generally works. They'll offer you a way only to change it later down the road because they "determined" that people were only using one or the other. If anything, you might have to wait for an update whether it be just regarding the trackpad or a OS update down the road.

Same issue here with a 2009 MacBook Air.

Tried everything I could without reinstalling.

The strange thing is that the other users on this machine don't have this bug.

I deleted most preferences, and I don't see any other prefpanes that could be responsible. I will clean install it when it's officially out.

Lion still has Secondary Click. Go to System Preferences and click Mouse, and check Secondary Click/Right Mouse Button

You didn't read the OP. There's the option for either one or the other not an option to use both which is what the OP wants.

Same on the final version of Lion :( Really annoying, I used to use both methods (Two finger tap and bottom right corner). Any way of fixing it?

How do you "tap and drag" in Lion, then?

I think it's somewhere under Universal Access in system preferences

Lion Trackpad two finger right click

Where why, since I installed Lion, my two finger right click on the track pad no longer works?

I see many explanations but none seem to be actually addressing the issue. when I try to select two finder right click even the sample tutorial to the right only will show the tutorial for one and three fingers but not two. and when I leave preferences the two finger option automatically deselects.

Below was the temporary solution to my issue! . . . marianmi is brilliant

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3189974?start=0&tstart=0

I have an early 2008 macbook pro (Macbook Pro 4,1).

In Lion, the only way to right-click is using ctrl+click. If I select "Secondary click" in System Preferences/Trackpad, it gets automatically un-selected when I exit System Preferences. This is very frustrating. Any idea how to fix it?

To workaround this problem on older macbooks, open Terminal.app from /Applications/Utilities/ run following command:

defaults -currentHost write -g com.apple.trackpad.enableSecondaryClick -bool YES

then log out and log back in (to disable secondary click pass NO instead of YES as the last argument).
