10.8.5 on older macbook pro

I have an early 2007 Macbook Pro. I am trying to install 10.8.5 using MLPostFactor. Initially it run through the install fine, reboots then it just sits at the Apple logo. I let is sit overnight, no change. Has anyone experienced this?

I have a 2006 model which I've just managed to do via MacPostFactor - but I used 1.0.1,

The newer version didn't work after updates (wouldn't apply the re-hack) but 1.0.1 did successfully.

If it helps I did it via the USB method - created the USB installer and ran it that way.
