Good day folks,

It seems that if the Messages window is minimized, clicking on its icon in the Dock doesn't make it float back up. Rather, it remains minimized in the Dock until I click on the minimized window in the Dock itself.

As minor as this issue may be, it's been bugging me because I find it easier to click on the larger Messages icon in the dock.

This issue seems to be affecting Messages only though and not other apps.

Edit: Somehow it's only happening on my 2011 MBP and not my iMac, which are both on 10.9.2.

I'm not seeing that issue, I can click on the messages app icon in the dock or its minimized window icon. Both do exactly the same, bring the window back up

I have the same/similar issue and it's driving me batty. I actually always used to close the messages window. Clicking on the dock icon always opened it back up.

Now, clicking on the dock icon does nothing. To get the window back, I have to click on the dock icon, then go up to the menu and click Window -> Messages or else hit Command-0.

I then thought I would try minimizing it, but as you said you still then have to click on the minimized window and not the application icon in the dock.

I've been doing it the old way for so long it's a muscle memory. I'm sure I'll adapt, but I don't get why they changed this.

Edit to add that if I quit and relaunch, sometimes it works the old way for a while. But then it switches back. Bug, not feature, I guess.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this.
