Currently running 10.10.5 Yosemite. Downloading El Capitan from iTunes store. Should it take 10 hrs to download.? This doesn't seem right.

pause and restart... Yesterday when I was downloading El Capitan it stated 1 days to 2 days... I did the Pause restart trick I was done after 2 hours.

Thanks for the tip. I tried your suggestion and it still will not speed things up. What a **** show. Not good Tim,not good at all.

I tried that pause restart but it still took me 4 hours to download and another 2 hours to install ... it was so bad that I thought the install was hung up ... but it finished everything in 6 hours and 15 minutes for me.

I think it's just you. An hour to download and an hour to install. Yesterday.

Its not just him, go to reddit and you'll see that people are getting incredibly slow downloads. I have a 50mbps connection and mine has been downloading since this morning and it fluctuates between 1-3 days remaining...Friggin horrendous

It took me about 13 hours to download, because my ISP had a fault that caused problems with connections to Apple's servers.

Not sure how a performance fault could be so specific, but it happened, so I'm not questioning the how or why, just glad it seems to be resolved.
