Wrongthink, wrongspeech, thoughtcrimes. I’m sure you heard of Orwell.

This happened recently:

But I meant it will happen in the future in the realm of Podcasts which for now went pretty much under Apples radar. Not anymore.

Apple is part of Big Tech and Big Tech has a documented history of manipulation and censorship of certain topics. If you don‘t want to accept that I can‘t help you.

But I guess nothing I say will make any difference for you anyways so that’s all from me 🥴

Like I said. Sounds like so much paranoia to me.

“Apple is bringing a new cryptographic security feature to iMessage called PQ3”

But they had to implement a backdoor for NSA, FBI, CIA, DIA and others according to the law xD Apple thinks we forgot about it.

The only safe messengers are those that are banned in the US or do not have servers there.
I’m curious, what actual information are you basing that statement on? I’ve heard that before but never came across any article or news bit validating this claim. If Apple had built a back door for the FBI then why would they have gone after Apple so publicly and aggressively to break into that iPhone involved in some criminal activity a few years back?

I hope that battery life is in line with ios 17.3.1. From the review on zollotech, it's a mixed bag with the battery life on the ios 17.4 release candidate.

Also that "safari is snappier". /s

I would probably use the Podcast App if they improved the podcast speed feature. It should be a customizable range, not go from 1.5 to 1.75. This is why I still use Pocketcasts, but I do like the idea of podcast transcription.

I don't know if you remember Covid times where you just had to say the word "vaccine" and channels got flagged immeadiately. I'm not even talking about the so called "conspiracy" shows. If Apple now transcribes Podcasts, they can easily set flags for wrongspeech and kick shows of their platform just for talking about something. We don't even know yet what the next big thing will be, but the gatekeeper tools are now established.
I guess it can go both ways, I find it more convenient being able to read the transcript I prefer to have a choice.

I wish Apple would let you block a certain range of phone numbers. Scam callers now use automated ranges of numbers and you block one, they just go to the next one to call you back. For example 555-2000, blocked? Okay…555-2001…and they’ll go all the way up to 555-2100. Seems the scam callers usually use a range of 100 numbers. Would be awesome to be able to manually punch in what number range you want to block from your phone instead of only being able to block all numbers unless they’re in your address book.

I found this article, but it's paywalled on my end. The NSA swears it didn't backdoor the next technology, apparently.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...backdoor-in-new-encryption-scheme-for-us-tech

And then I found this:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2024/02/29/push-notification-surveillance-fbi/
Thank you for this, but these really don't say what you were saying initially. Even the second one is specifically pointing out it is just the meta data related to the notification, but not the content of the notification in question.

Battery drain since the 17.3.1 is still lingering on my iPhone.

I'm so excited for Podcast Transcripts. So often I remember something someone said in a podcast and it's cumbersome enough trying to find the right episode sometimes, let alone the point during the episode that I'm looking for.
