Possibly still does it even with that turned off because you could still receive normal notifications with background refresh turned off.If background app refresh is turned off you won’t receive these

It was in iOS 26 from the start: https://www.idownloadblog.com/2025/08/21/apple-ios-26-iphone-adaptive-power-notification-tutorial/Must be a new option in 27. Thanks
Very interesting. I didn't know about that. So they ping periodically to see if an app is running?Too bad there wasn’t a way to measure the power usage and data usage for silent notifications, something that app developers send out to see how many installations are active. 🙄
Just to see if it’s still installed.Very interesting. I didn't know about that. So they ping periodically to see if an app is running?
iPhone 16 Pro, launch day. 2 years later and battery is at 100%, charge up to 80%. Never felt anxiety not to get through the day, sometimes iOS will charge to 100% for battery calibration but that is out of my control. I find iOS 26 performance slow especially when using the camera app. I hear iOS 27 is the Snow Leopard release.Talk abt battery life…, I haven’t had to use my phone today really, I got to 100% battery at 1pm it’s now afta midnight and am at 83% lol
Tip? Airplane mode& screen off mode
New battery January 1, just recently hit 99% health capacity, nod bad
Would be nice to have but limiting or triggering LP mode is not needed for many. I do it out of habit and I need to relearn to just let it be. 😅It still boggles my mind that you have to create a shortcut to automatically enable low power mode at a certain battery percentage. How is that not a built in, easily configurable setting?
Reduce white point.what works best for me is reducing screen brightness and turning off Background App Refresh for apps I don’t need
Honestly, Turning off the always on display was an easy decision to make for me. I kept feeling like it was unlocked and wanting to lock it when it was on all the time which was irritating to me. It lasted about a day before I turned it off. Which turns out is the opposite I was for the watch. I thought I wouldn't want always on on my watch, but then found it really helpful to have that always on so I could see the time at a glance without having to move my wrist or press a button. But since my watch can easily tell me the time, I don't need the phone also showing the time all the time, and I really don't find much benefit to having other things always on on the phone.
Aeroplane mode + run through WiFi is by far the single biggest power saving trick I have found. I am taking 3 days to drop from 80% to 30-40% charge. Though obviously not possible for everybody if you want to stay connected and don't have a WiFi point available nearby. But I am at home most of the time these days so that is not an issue for me.
Also, I am a light user, and tend to leave it Aeroplane mode for most of my journeys away from home, which are usually fairly short, rarely more than 2 hours these days, and not frequent.
Still, Aeroplane Mode really saves on power. If I leave it on I need to recharge every day or so, for the same use pattern. That constant unnecessary hunting for a tower signal really chews up the power.
