iPhone as a phone type

"iPhone" is a type of contact number, along with mobile, home, work, etc..

"iPhone" is a type of contact number, along with mobile, home, work, etc..

This has already been mentioned but unfortunately it isn't there if you use Exchange. Can someone confirm whether it is there for MobileMe?

I know this doesn't qualify as a feature, but it is *part of one of the new features and something that really doesn't sit well with me.

When sending an SMS, as soon as you hit "send" the message goes up into the conversation window even if the message fails to send in the long run. They added the little clickable red exclamation point to bring up the option to retry but my major bicker about this is the sound. The little "whoop" sound that plays, in the past, played when the message sent and went into the conversation window. Now it just seems out of place without the message moving with the sound...

Does this bother anybody else or am I being nitpicky?

Bothers me too.

Stock Application

The new Stock Application now displays the bottom of the stock list instead of the top. I prefer the old way of display from the top. The indexs are on the top which is what I prefer to see first. Now I have to scroll up each time I go into the Applicaiton.

switching store!!!

FINALLY.... we can switch our iTunes-store-account without having to hook up the phone to iTunes!!!
Thank god!

If this is a new 3.0 feature it's a pretty crummy one. Ever since updating my phone to 3.0 I've noticed that after dock/sync with my Mac and then start up the iPod functions that it says "updating library" in the window, and it will take up to 30 seconds (I have 14GB of music on my 3G).

Is anyone else experiencing this? It's really annoying. In the past I had observed that after docking I would experience a brief period on the phone when launching iPod in which it was slightly unresponsive (black screen, etc) but nothing like this "updating library" delay that I'm seeing now.

Other 3.0 gems I've observed;

1. When I dock the iPhone now it starts playing music out of the speaker on the iPod for a second before the audio plays from the dock device.

2. Quite a bit of lag when changing tracks, and lag in the album art updating.

I'm suspicious that 3.0 requires a lot more overhead than 2.0 and as a result these things are happening. I will have my 3GS in a week so hopefully it will perform better.

i guess you need a faster processor to disply battery life by percentage. This is a big **** you apple. They have no way to say this is even remotely hardware related. neither is anything else except magnetometer. Somebody needs to hack the 3gs firmware and get the features for us 3G'ers!!!

had it since I jailbroke my phone.

No, I'm a girl :), I know shocking a girl geek . I use phone for work and personal it would help a little.

Hey, us girls can have fun juggling guys around too! :p
You brought up a good point though. I know that we will be able to delete individual text messages without deleting the whole conversation, but I'm not sure if we can delete a single call. If anyone reading this has 3.0, please let us know. thnx.

ive searched up and down for this, but is anyone else missing the stock application after the upgrade??

If only...

tell me about it. i hate it. there is a way to hide it but it just comes back when you install something from the app store or when you reset the device. but to answer the other question, no the stock app is still here.....unfortunately

Can someone PLEASE confirm with me if the CALL TIME (eg. how long you were on that phone call last tuesday) is in 3.0?
That has to be by far the most irritating lack of feature i've seen (yes, more than MMS)
