Thought I heard something about this?
How is it obtainable?
Sounds like BS, do you really think they are going to give thousands of people a $100 credit?
I don't see that happening.
Don't think anything like this has happened before. In my experience if an Apple product is faulty they will replace it. Simple as that.
No way in hell is this true. Apple is not about to take a financial hit like that when the issue is supposedly so widespread.
Worst case scenario (for Apple), they put a release out there that if you have the backlight bleed issue, you can exchange your iPad for free down the road.
Maybe this is what you saw...
Apple will refund or give a credit to iPad buyers in last two weeks after announced iPad 2 availability
Looks like if you bought an iPad 1 within 2 weeks of the iPad 2 announcement, Apple is giving you a $100 credit to essentially price match the price drop that happened on release day.
No, it was for backlight bleeding. And was because since they don't really have replacements on hand it was sort of a courtesy thing... Just keep it and have 100$ back
It was in some threads here
Post a link if you can find it.
I think news like that would be all over the interwebz and ALL iPad 2 owners would be claiming it
Total BS. It took months of complaining to get an iPhone 4 bumper!
I doubt it..
thats a good one....
Buzz at the mall?
I'd probably accept this. I tried to exchange mine at the store last night, and we went through three right there that were all the same (moderate light bleeding). It's annoying, but it's minor enough that $100 would probably make me worry about it.
(Not that I've heard anything about $100 actually being offered).
Easy. Return your unit then wait for the refurbs to come out.
