100w Charger okay for 15 inch MacBook Pro?

Just ordered the new Dell U3818DW 38 inch ultra wide. It provides 100w charging to the MacBook Pro via USB-C. I'm wondering if that is too much for the MacBook Pro? Any thoughts?

Actually, according to this https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207256 article, you shouldn't connect to a power source over 100w as it might damage your MBP. So the U3818DW is good to go.

Well, you can't really connect to a power source over 100W since thats the max supported by USB and any cable offering more is terribly broken 🙂

Out of curiosity, how have you been enjoying this monitor with your MacBook Pro?

I've been using my Late 2016 15" MacBook Pro with the AORUS GTX 1070 Gaming Box. It provides 100W of power delivery. There's no issues.

I've been using a lg 27ud88 which only offers around 65W. So under high load charging bay going negative but otherwise Mac is happy and keeps topped up
