Make my iPhone 4 feel like a 3GS

Hey everyone...

I have a really odd request. Does anyone know of a case that will "round out" my iPhone 4? I really hate the 'sharp edges' of it -- and I would really prefer something that would round it out and add some curve to it for my hands. Possible similar to that "prototype" case that gizmodo found with the iPhone not too long ago.

Any one have any suggestions?

We've been getting requests for that kind of case. However, most iphone 4 users want others to know that its an iphone 4 and not a 3gs or older. So it would be a challenge to find a case design that makes the iphone 4 more ergonomic yet retain it's iphone 4 ness.

I would pay you and your company $100 -- (or more) for a case like that.

I just purchased the White one and was about to post my impressions. The case rounds out the edges of the phone. It fits so good in your hand and still remains very thin. As close to a naked phone as I have found. It doesn't offer a ton of protection but I have already dropped mine from a few feet with no ill effects.

I was talking to one of our manufacturers and they said they would make us a prototype :)

If there's enough interest, we'll go to mass production. At the very least you'll get to check out a prototype.

FYI. It will be a clam shell design with an all black Piano finish.
 
I'm very interested in this too. I like my iPhone 4 whenever I'm using it, but when I pick up my mom's 3GS, I just miss the nice rounded back.

I was coming in here to say this. I really like this case (got mine from the case program). I dropped it on the bathroom floor last night and not even the CASE had a scratch/dent in it. I highly recommend it. Plays nice with my PS screen protector too.

Is it a snap on case?
 
I've thought of finding these kind of cases to turn my "4" into a 3GS! But I guess no one makes these in high volumes. I guess you search in eBay?

I think most of us in this thread loved the way the 3GS felt in the palm of your hand, rather than a flat piece of glass. The iPhone 4 is in no way ergonomic to your hand.

I'm actually VERY surprised no one has come up with this solution via a snap on case or some sort of hard silicone slip cover. (Just like the prototype case Apple made for testing)

The need is out there guys, someone make it! :apple:
