OS X 10.13.3, stock late 2016 15" MBP 2.6ghz (256GB SSD), 16GB RAM.

So I got a notification on my MBP that I was low on storage. Seemed odd so I ran Daisy Disk. My home folder is using about 110GB -- that for all docs and apps. Then there is "hidden space) using 103GB! I click on that and get a message from Daisy Disk that it's unable to "locate these data," and "They are not accessible to users."

Why is OS X hogging 103GB of storage? My RAM usage is light. I use Time Machine but it's stored on an external drive not currently attached.

Any idea what's going on here and any way to pare this down?

Thanks for the link. Explains everything. Since it's not "permanent" I guess there is no point in removing it. It will just happen again unless I turn TM off, which I'm not going to do.
