Hey guys,

I'm looking to upgrade the ram on my 2011 iMac. There's currently 4GB of 1333MHz DDR3 ram installed. Would there be any problems if the new ram I add is 8gb of DDR3 1066MHz?

I assume there would be any incompatibilities but I'd like to make sure before combining these different RAM modules

Thanks!

It would work but why would you slow your machine down?

It would work, but the fastest ram will run at the same speed of the slowest, buy a 1333 module, there is almost no difference in price
