1080i vs 720p? Which fps and final cut settings? Downgrade problems?
I have a project with footage ranging from SD to HDV. I am thinking of editing it for HD... either 1080i or 720p or even 1080p? for future proofing (i think i can get away only cause its more of an animation).
Right now, I would need an SD DVD output for certain, but i want to keep a miniDV (possibly SD, 720p and 1080i versions), and possible transfer to HDcam later on.
So I assume I should edit in HD to prevent lost...but which codec? I have access to camcorders that can record 1080i... could i output 720p from finalcut onto the miniDV? And on top of that the fps... I would want 24 or 23.9 but that dependent on the output...
