There are threads about these topics constantly popping up, so I'm hoping that this one will put it all to rest; but I highly doubt it.
For everyone who is on Verizon or wants to switch to Verizon to get the iPhone 4, I say get it ASAP!
We've waited 4 years for this, so why continue waiting for the next best phone? I don't think everyone here is ******** money that they can upgrade to a new phone every year, so for those of us who can't, buy it now!
Why wait for the iPhone 5? It's going to be the exact same body, with some upgrades (ie, 3G to 3GS).
You want a White iPhone? Are you going to cover it with a case or bumper? If so, why does the color matter than? There are covers, cases, skins, you name it, that will change the appearance of your phone to something special and unique to what you prefer. But, if you plan on using the phone bare naked with nothing covering it, I say wait than. But why risk dropping it and damaging the phone? It's safer to get a case than to wait.
When it comes to Apple's annual upgrade, we know that they upgraded the iPhone every June/July, so getting it this Feb means that it will be obsolete in 4 months, right? But how do we know that? The June/July upgrade was for At&ts network, so Verizon owners could be seeing an iPhone refresh every Feb.
There is no point to wait for the new iPhone. Imagine waiting 4 more months, and getting the iPhone 4S/5, and than in 2012, iPhone releases a better phone.
There is always going to be a better phone, so why keep waiting?
The way I see it, this phone is going to be on 3G, highly doubtful that this summer the iPhone will be capable on Verizons 4G LTE, so that means you'd have to wait for 2012, which is when the iPhone 5/6 is released.
Also, it is very much possible that Verizon gets it's iPhone update every Feb. That doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad thing.
Yeah, AT&T owners will be getting it 6 months earlier, but you'll be on the Nations Most Reliable Network. Can't use Data and Voice at the same time?
Don't worry! That's just on Verizon's CDMA 3G service, next year when iPhone comes to Verizon's 4G LTE network, it will be compatible to use data/voice simultaneously.
I know I don't have any evidence to back up all the claims I'm making. But some of these threads just baffle me (if you want to bash this, whatever, just giving my 2 cents).
Threads that ask if you should get the iPhone 4 now or wait. Honestly, get it now! The sooner you get it, the sooner you will be able to upgrade your phone to next big thing.
The 3G and 3GS shared the same body, and I'm pretty positive that the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S/5 will have the same body also. I know that the iPhone 4 has antenna issues, but those are for mostly people who speak with their left hand (The palm touches the gap). I, on the other hand, am right handed, and I will be using a case for my phone to ensure reliable service.
I've realized that this is mostly a huge rant, but I just wanted to get this off my chest.
If anyone wants to comment and debate about this, I'm all ears, and will most likely have something to say to whatever it is you'll be arguing for.
One last note, the iPhone 4 is an amazing product, and personally, I've been using a ****** phone (Samsung Glyde) for almost 2 years, so using a phone that I love and that I know will actually work, is something that I won't be complaining about when getting the iPhone 4. I still have my iPhone 2G, it has some scratches, volume down button doesn't work, most headphones won't work on it cause of it's large size, and 1 speaker is blown out. Other than that, the touch screen is completely responsive, and everything works.
So honestly, just get the damn phone if you really want it, don't wait, you've waited long enough. I know that I'm getting it this month.
