i can't find any but need a 10m length (active) to plug my iPad pro into my Mac mini.

Preferably use 3.0

Just curious - What will you be doing with an iPad that needs a wired attachment to a computer 30 feet distant?

I don't think there are any lightning cables longer than 3m.

I need 7.5m actually.

This is to plug my iPad Pro into my Mac Mini to use as a main display, the cable will go through the floor and to the iPad so it is out the way.

I can find plenty of active USB extenders but wanted to see if there were any lightning cables instead so it's cleaner.

You may want to try that out before you hide a cable under the floor.
Does that actually work to display video from a mini to an iPad?
And, can you use it for a main display (showing menubar and any windows as a Mac display would show those ?)
I don't think that Airplay would be the same as using for a main display (?)

you need a powered extender. usb has a 10' limit on leith of cables. anything longer and you need a powered hub. in this case you may need two not sure how much distance a powered hub gives you.

Lol was wondering what you needed a cable that long for. Don't think a 10m one exists. Frustrating the situation you've got as I would too want to keep cables hidden when wiring it to your display.

I didn't know you could connect the two in that way. Learn something new everyday!

Yeah I have been using the iPad Pro with the mini for about a week now and use the Duet Display app which works really well. There's also "air display" which works wirelessly but the app is not as polished and there is enough lag to make it worth putting a cable in the floor for.

For now I will stick with the active usb cable.

For what it's worth; I also spoke to Duet developers and they confirmed that whilst the iPad Pro ships with a USB 3.0 compatible lightning to usb cable, it does not yet have any effect as it still reads as usb 2.0 from a Mac, but they will utilise it when available.

"The cable that comes with the iPad Pro is 3.0 compatible, meaning that it works with 3.0 USB ports and devices but the transfer speed wouldn't be 3.0 without an actually USB 3.0 cable and the one the iPad Pro has doesn't quite enable it."

So I don't think it's enabled yet anyway.
