So, if the current specs hold up, from what I’m seeing the 11 is by far the best bang for the buck. I may end up getting that one just to have a second phone @128gb $749, I don’t need a third camera for $700 more...your thoughts?

The Pro doesn't quite have "pro" features, at least not worth $300-$400 more. If the Pro ends up having only 4GB of RAM, it's even more difficult to justify.

The iPhone 11 is the best value this year as long as you don’t mind the other bells and whistles.

The 11 definitely is the better value option. When you factor in the pricier AppleCare+ for the Pro models the mark up gets harder to justify.

Of the 3 this year, if these specs hold up , the 11 by far

11 is definitely the best for the money. I’ve gone from XR to 11 Pro just because I want the premium build and smaller size this time.

Remember to think of resale value as part of the equation. While it might be $300-$400 more up front, if you get $100 or $200 or even more when you sell it or trade it in that makes a difference.

To be honest, if I was just buying off budget, the 11 would've been fine. On paper its a good phone.

But I make good money and want to have the best offering, so I got the pro max.

I hear you and make good $ too, not going to keep giving it to Apple just because, I was actually set to get the pro but now I am waiting till I actually know more and go see them in person, I imagine it will be the 11 no matter what. There is a reason that Apple is shady with the specs from the get go.

11 will probably have the best battery life and best performance since the display is a lower resolution and it has all the same internals as the Pro. Personally I want the OLED so it’s a deal breaker for me, otherwise I would have went for the 11.

Because I am on the IUP I weighed the following.

iPhone 11 Pro Max $225/year more than iPhone 11.

3 or so hours extra battery life (video)
Extra
Fast charger
OLED screen
Premium materials
Slightly better water resistance

For the year, those additional features are with $225 to me. If I didn’t like the more premium materials I would totally agree that the iPhone 11 is the better value, but since I do, I think they both represent the same value proposition.

I think that’s a good idea to actually go see them in person. You’ll get a better feel of what’s best for you. Bang for the buck on new models I’d say probably the 11, but the question is, is it best for you.

The 11 is definitely best bang for the buck. For me, I need more storage than 64GB. It’s not an apples to apples comparison but 11 with 128GB vs Pro Max with 256 (the first storage option) is $1049 CAD vs $1729 CAD. Add AppleCare+ to both and its $1249 CAD vs $1979 CAD.

The Pro is really a deluxe / luxury version of the 11. Additional camera for telephoto, stainless steel + OLED with a thinner bezel.

I would really prefer to go Pro and could afford it, but since the X I haven’t been able to bring myself to spend $2000 CAD on the XS Max (or the Pro Max yet).

11 pro
if you are going to pay this much for a phone, you at least want to have the best possible screen, camera system and low weight
For me the 11 is going most of the way with cost but only half the way with features ...

I am in the same boat... for now. Will decide when I pick up the new phone on Friday afternoon. $300 is $300 dollars.
I'll probably use the phone for a week before I decide if the extra money is worth it, I can easily return it for the standard 11.
