I don't think I could use less than a 12" screen, that being said I love my 2014 13" MacBook Air! It's a great size, and super light, making it ultra convenient for taking it to class with me or just using it wherever, whenever. I do have to say that I wish I would have gone for the i7, 256GB, 8GB RAM Model, but I decided to save about $600 at the time by getting the base i5, 128GB, 4GB RAM Model.
I don't notice any major slow downs by the 4GB of RAM, but it's mainly because I don't play too many major games or use really beefy programs.

I have always preferred 15". I'm a developer and I need to see a full screen of content plus tools so a bigger screen is nice. If Apple re-introduced a 17" model with a retina display I'd be very tempted to get that.

If I'm supposed to carry it around for more than 3 minutes at a time then 12-13"
Otherwise I would like a new 17" since it´s big enough to eliminate the need for an external screen. A movable mini iMac :)

Ergonomically I think it's a disaster to have a screen connected to a hinge.

I'll use my laptop when I have to, but much prefer a nice big screen on my desk with a separate keyboard.

So it matters not one whit to me how big my laptop screen is. The MBA's 11" screen seems perfect to me.
