Since it's got the TV aspect resolution of 1366x768 instead of 1280x800, does it mean it is 16:9?
1366 ÷ 768 = 1.77864583 ≈ 16 ÷ 9, so yup, it's 16:9 just like most (all?) of their new displays.
Of course the 13 inch MBA is still 16:10 so... I guess Apple is nothing if not inconsistent.
Pretty pleased with that, I was wondering when they were going to go that way with laptops; I can't quite see why they needed to with the 11.6" though, when the bezel is almost as big as the screen .
Hm, it's like the 12" powerbook then, with a little less height and a lot more pixels on the width. But why did Steve say the 13.3" Air has more resolution than the 15" MacBook Pro, they are both the same, 1440x900?

That res is the same as 15" MBP.
What he said was the 11.6" was higher res than the 13" MBP. I didn't think it was true, but it is when you consider it wider... although not as many vertically. But I am sure he didn't misspeak, so it must be more pixels overall. Didn't do the math, but I believe him.
I wish the 11.6" was still 16:10 and still kept the SD card slot.
I am waiting to see how stringent Apple's new battery tests are before I do anything though.
Also want to see them in person.
1366x768 = 1,049,088 pixels
1280x800 = 1,024,000 pixels
Throughout the computer industry, resolution can mean either DPI/PPI (pixels per inch) or horizontal and vertical pixel counts. It's an overloaded term. If you're running a new display at the same "resolution" (pixel count) as a larger display, then the new one has a higher "resolution" (DPI).
Yeah it makes sence either way. It's 135ppi so it's slightly higher than the 132ppi on the MBP.
