I’m wondering… my main complaint on the 11” previous models would be the weight. New model owners… how different does it feel? Give me all your impressions.

It’s a noticeable difference for me. When it’s resting on my lap as a tablet, it feels almost weightless. When its in my backpack I don’t even notice its there.

There really isn't much more that can be done to make the 11" lighter - the reason the 13" saw a larger decrease was because the MiniLED panel backlighting was pretty hefty.

2020 12.9 (LCD) 1.42 pounds
2021 12.9 (mLED) 1.51 pounds
2024 13 (OLED) 1.28 pounds

If the 12.9 had never gotten the Mini LED panel it would only have been a 10% weight drop.

I just replaced my 1st gen iPad Pro 10.5" (2017) by the new 11" M4 and both are pretty similar in weight, size and thickness. The new M4 is slightly better in all three characteristics, but it's barely noticeable.

My 11” M1 IPP with Smart Folio weighs 1lb 6.9oz. My 11” M4 IPP with Smart Folio weighs 1lb 6.8oz. Basically identical.
Wow. That’s the single most significant piece of info I have seen. They’re nearly the same once you add the Smart Folio, which I would do.
