Got this second hand and still could last me a day, reckon I should wait till it hits below 80 before sending it off to Apple for the battery replacement? Will they also replace the waterproof seals?

Yes, when they remove the screen, the old seal tend to get damaged so they always put in a new seal after they replace the new battery.
