So I was concerned that going to the mini from the 11 pro would be a significant downgrade camera wise, but I don’t notice much of a difference between the two. Mainly in long-distance zooming. But most of the time, unless I remember which one took the picture, I can’t really tell.

yeah i wouldnt think there is much of a difference, if anything an advantage to the mini... and even with the mini and the 12 MAX really dont think there is a huge different.. that me tho...

I’d be interested to see more pics showing the differences between the two. Camera quality and battery life were the two reasons why I was strongly considering keeping my 11 Pro and not trading it for the 12 mini. I thought I could live with the camera and lack of 2x telephoto but did not feel like I could live without strong battery life.

It's not just you. The differences will be minimal for most people except professional pixel peepers. The hardware across the 12 lineup is almost the same. They all take great photos.

The difference is indeed minimal. The improved onboard processing and new lens on the 1x camera should give the advantage to the Mini for the 1x and .5x shots. The really big advantage of the Mini for me is it’s so light and easy to handle that I can more easily get it into spaces I would have trouble with the 11 Pro so I can take shots with better framing.

Yeah I was mostly worried about losing the telephoto lens, and I do see a difference in detail when zoomed all the way in, but it’s not like I’ll be doing that often, and the size and weight of the mini do make it easier to just whip out for a quick shot. So for me the camera is basically a wash, and the overall feel of the mini gives it the win.

I guess I don’t have a lot of screen on time, tu I’ve been using my phone pretty continuously all day and I’m at 50%. My pro at this time last year was probably around 60%.

You’ve not used the iPhone at all. Do you use very high brightness + 5G all the time + low signal zone all the time?

If that’s your use case get a Pro Max and be done with it. A Mini will never give you sufficient battery life under those conditions.

My usage was well above average for me yesterday. I took two phone calls, one lasting 57 minutes and the second around 34. Outside of that, it was my regular usage which entails a few minutes here and there browsing Reddit, Apple Music via Bluetooth for the drives to and from work, reading the news for 15 - 20 minutes and iMessage conversations with three or four people throughout the day. I didn't see the exact percentage when I went to bed but it was right around the 50% mark.

Now granted having 70% battery at the end of the day was nice on the 12 Pro, I'm well past the days where I might not end up at home around a charger by the end of the day and if that were to happen for whatever reason I have wireless chargers everywhere and a hardline in my car for the odd days I feel like using CarPlay.
